Nauseous and Tired but GOOD!

Well, I suppose now is a good a time as any to let you in on a little secret....

We have a little bambino on the way!!

Thus, the major lack of postings and commenting by me. I'm about 10 weeks along and smack in the middle of morning sickness (or, as all you moms know, it's really mostly any-time-of-the-day sickness)! But in the middle of it, I'm trying to keep my chin up and remember that it'll all be worth it! It's definitely more challenging having a toddler to keep up with as well, but she makes me laugh all the time.

Today I was trying to discipline Avery for playing with my printer and in the middle of me holding her hands tight and telling her "no", she kept trying to give me kisses on the nose. It was just too much - I just had to laugh.

I'll keep you posted on my progress! We are super excited to have another little baby to add to our family!! :)

A Few Things

I'm SO relieved to know that most of my friends are Office fans!! It's just the best show. Here's a look at what the office was up to this summer...

On another note, we're trying to plan a vacation with another couple for February and I need ideas. We want to go someplace warm like Florida, Arizona, Southern California, etc. Anyone have any ideas or know of a rental house/condo that might be available?

Martha

So have you been watching Martha Stewart's show lately? She's been showing off her new collection for Macy's and, although I think her show is just one giant advertisement for her products, I'm really liking this collection!

I really like this all-white bedding she's put together - old fashioned, clean, simple...
And I also really like all-white dinnerware...
Cute little spice containers...
Vintage recipe card holder...(I bet you could totally find something like this at a yard sale!)
Although I'm not going to be rushing to Macy's to buy her things, Martha's given me some ideas that I really like, especially the bedding! What do you think?

Yard Sale Finds

I've had some really good luck at yard sales the past few weeks. I bought this red berry wreath that I'll put on my door at Christmastime (after I spruce it up a bit)...

This bench is perfect for our entry! I just have to decorate it a bit better. The lady at the yard sale didn't want to sell it (she was using it to display items), but I talked her into it for $5. I actually do this a lot - I figure it doesn't hurt to try! I thought about painting it, but I kind of like the worn look and the paint color...
I love this cottage-y chair - it's a great replacement to our old recliner! And it's in nearly perfect condition.
This cute frame w/mirror came as a set of two for $1. I painted them white (they were dark wood) and I'm not sure where I'll hang them yet...
Do you enjoy yard sale finds as much as I do?? I LOVE a good deal! My husband says from now on I can only buy stuff that we REALLY need, but I just can't turn down such great stuff! :) Gotta try though!

I'll play...

I've been tagged by Chris at Just Beachy. The game is to come up with a little unknown thing for each letter of your middle name.

My middle name is Sue, so this should be short & sweet. :)

S is for SHORTS. Ack! I don't wear them EVER! Well, unless I'm mowing the yard, but other than that, I feel that people just don't need to see that much my unflattering legs. Now a skirt, that's another story...

U is for...wow, this is a hard one...URANIUM. Ha, ha, just kidding! Um, I really can't think of a thing interesting to say, really.

E is for EXHAUSTED. This is how I felt earlier this week when my baby was sick. She got Roseola, which means she had a high fever for 3 days, then got spots all over her skin. Throw a little teething in the mixture and it adds up to many sleepless nights and a very fussy little girl. But somehow we survived! Doesn't it always work out that way?

Historic Poole Forge

Last week we went to Poole Forge for the evening. It's an old historic park with a creek & a covered bridge. It's actually the site of my brother's wedding later in September.

We walked around the grounds and just enjoyed the beautiful, relaxing evening. Avery loved the horses & buggies that were tied up (there were lots of Amish picnickers there), and she had fun throwing rocks into the creek and checking out the ducks.

Baby & Friends

We had our Colorado friends Luke & Julie visiting with us for the past week and a half, and it's been fun watching their 21 mo. old little guy interacting with Avery. We heard a lot of "Jarrett - don't sit on baby Avery" and "Jarrett - don't squish baby Avery", etc, etc. :) He's completely BOY and she's a complete girly-girl. There were lots of funny moments!

Little Jarrett taught Avery that crayons are actually used for drawing and not for eating. This was a tough lesson to learn...

No eating crayons Avery!That's better!

Julie & I took the kids to a petting zoo one day. There's just something about kids and animals - they just love each other!
