Sweet Girl

"The beauty of a girl cannot be mimicked, fabricated or created by human means, it only occurs naturally." ~Pam Callaghan

During on of my recent nighttime feedings with Jack, I suddenly realized that my little girl is almost 3 years old. I've been so preoccupied with other things lately that I didn't realize how "old" the number 3 sounds!

It means that she's creeping closer and closer to 4 and then the magical age of 5 when Kindergarten begins!! And that thought made me lie awake and mull over in my mind what that will be like. For her and me.

And I got scared! I'm sure she will be fine, but I think I'll be a wreck!

Wish we could hold onto the sweetness of the baby age for just a wee bit longer!

Balance

I'm struggling to find the right balance between

*taking care of kiddos
*my job (I work from home)
*spending time with the hubs
*taking care of the house
*doing volunteer activities
*hanging out with friends
*and doing things just for fun

Some days I'm successful and some days I really stink at it!
And today was a stink-bomb.
But at least tomorrow is always a fresh start and a new chance to start over!

Beautiful Bride

I spent the weekend coordinating a wedding for this beautiful bride! She has a huge extended family who are very close, and they were so much fun to work with!

And now they are on their honeymoon on a tropical beach somewhere and I must say, I'm a little bit jealous!

Coastal Living

I don't know if it's because of the warm weather we've been having for the past several days, but last night as I was curled up on the couch reading my Coastal Living magazine, I was particularly inspired by the fresh, white photos of houses along the coast...

Makes me want to head to the beach with the hubs and kiddos and never look back!!

More Fluffing

I was flipping through the latest Pottery Barn catalog and came across this little description that got me thinking...

"...choosing high-quality furniture, fabrics and accessories is the only path to a home you truly love."

Hello??!!

You can't have a home you truly love without spending a lot of money on the highest quality furnishings? That's ridiculous!!

If you have the money to spend, then I say go ahead and spend it on the best stuff, but if you're like me, you don't exactly have a ton of cash to spend on the "extras" for the house.

I find that, in my experience, if you are forced to be creative by finding the inexpensive items you like at places you may not normally shop, your home has more personality and is more unique and not so "cookie-cutter".

Of course, you all know my love affair with Goodwill (you're probably sick of hearing me talk about it!), but here are some things I found in the last few weeks...

A wire bowl on top of a pillowcase as a table centerpiece...

A cute little basket I found for my bathroom (everything in it is from GW)...

Wicker bag that I just couldn't resist...
