My Home Sweet Home

When we are driving at night, I love it when people have their curtains open in their homes with the lights on inside. That means I might be able to sneak a peak inside their house and see what it looks like! Is that wrong? I just love seeing how other people live!

Since I love peeking inside other people's homes, I thought I'd share some little favorite spots that I have around my own house.

So, take off your shoes and come inside!

This is the front entrance hallway where I have a little photo gallery hung on the wall. They are mostly photos we've taken from trips we've gone on...

This is the original built-in corner cabinet in the dining area of the kitchen. I love the old glass door knobs and the storage it gives me...
Here's a memo board that I made for our office. I love the combination of toile fabric and the painted white frame (it used to be an ugly brass picture frame)...

Here's a barn that a relative made for me out of old barn wood and slate...

I love this mug holder that I got at IKEA - the mugs were bought on sale at the Pottery Barn outlet and they've been used quite a bit this winter...

I have this old drawer that I made into a shelf hanging in my foyer. I have a thing for graphic plates and cups...

My fireplace mantel (I just haven't been able to part with the Christmas lights yet)...

The cozy yard sale chair that I adore...

Some things I have displayed on the built-in bookcase in the family room...

I just love scrumptious blankets and pillows! And I have loads of them!

My bed, restful and relaxing...

A pretty little plate that I found at Goodwill. It's setting on my dresser in my bedroom and I use it to hold my watch, perfume and misc. jewelry. By the way, my favorite perfume right now is Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Hubs bought it for me a few years ago, and I was shocked that I actually liked it! I'm usually really, really picky when it comes to fragrances, but this one is perfect!

Little Avery's bed - I like it better than my own, I think!

But I must say, as much as I love all those little "things" in my house, this handsome guy would have to be my favorite...
and let's not forget about these two messy-haired kiddos...Wherever they are is home to me!

And there you have it! Hope you enjoyed the little tour and please come again!

A fun little sewing project

Yes, I'm still here! And (for the most part) am enjoying my new little guy! Nights are a little rough, but that's normal for a two-week-old, if I remember correctly! :)

I thought I'd share a little sewing project that I did with my cousin Miriam a little while ago. When her family came to visit us for Thanksgiving, we decided to spend a day doing some fabric shopping and sewing. And what a fun day it was!

Here she is creating a masterpiece...

And here is my very first apron that I made! It's far from perfect but it gets the job done! And, of course, it's all about the PINK!

Oh, and I thought I'd share a picture of Avery playing with her new kitchen set that she got for Christmas. It fits in perfectly in our kitchen and she loves playing with it! She thinks the apron and hat are especially cool!

Don't sit on your brother!

Oh, the things that have been coming out of my mouth in the past week! It's been quite an adjustment adding a newborn to our mix, but today the sun is shining and I'm feeling optimistic that I can actually do this "mother of two" thing!

Baby Jack has been doing really well - he eats like crazy and I try to sleep whenever I can in between all the feedings. I'm recovering really well from my c-section and haven't really had much pain since leaving the hospital.

Sometimes the feedings and diaper changing and listening to baby crying just seems so endless, but I know that this time will pass quickly.

I'm so thankful for all the friends and family who have been helping us in the past week with taking care of Avery, bringing us meals, and just giving us encouragement!

He's got that new baby smell!

So here's the little guy who's had my full attention this week...Jack Benjamin!

We are in sleep-deprived transition mode right now but getting through it. More pics to come!

Welcome Baby Weaver!

Hey Everyone!

This is Aimee's sister giving an update on the big news!

Jack Benjamin Weaver was born Monday January 12 at 2:01 a.m. He came out a healthy 7lbs 2oz and 20 inches long, and a head full of dark hair.

Mommy and baby are doing great and will be staying at Ephrata Community Hospital if you would like to visit. Merle is a very proud daddy and Avery has been talking a lot about "baby brother." She's been very sweet with him :)

Pictures will be coming soon and I'm sure Aimee will have a lot more to tell you.

Still nothing!

I wish I had some exciting news to share, but after a week of having contractions, the baby seems to be quite content to stay in my belly and make me quite uncomfortable!!

Wow, this waiting period is a little bit like torture, but I'm just thankful that I'm able to rest when I need to and that Avery has been a good little girl for me this week. Oh, and that hubs has been willing to go grocery shopping for me and gives me lots of encouragement!

Hopefully the next post will be the big announcement!!!

Well...

I'm still here...and the baby still isn't! I've been having contractions for 4 days now but not much is happening. It's been a little frustrating, but I must say, I think God has given me an extra dose of patience and a sense of peace about it!

For now, I am enjoying my little girl, my hubs, and my family! And I'm taking advantage of doing some shopping and taking care of last minute projects while I have the time!

Baby, I'm ready whenever you are!!
