A Day At The Beach

We are spending the long weekend at the beach with my parents and my brothers and their families. Did I mention we are loving every minute?

Jack immediately got busy getting as dirty as a two-year-old boy can possibly get. I think his daddy had as much fun as he did. Oh, how I love that boy!

It was a glorious day! Perfect temps but the water was COLD!!

My Pink Porch

It's the most wonderful time of the year! And I'm not talking about Christmas, either!!

It's the time of year when the roses are blooming in full force. And my little old porch turns pink. And smells divine.

I almost don't notice the rusty porch railing or the peeling wood floor. It's camouflaged by the most beautiful blooms ever!

I bought this bistro set at a yard sale for $15 and spray painted it a robin's egg blue. The fun striped cushions are from Ikea. The spot is perfect for summertime-lunches!

Anyone care to join me for a cold glass of lemonade? I would love it!

Benefit Yard Sale

My neighbor friends Chandra & Kim are having a HUGE yard sale this weekend - Friday & Saturday on State Street in New Holland.

All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure that they are both participating in. If you are from the area, stop by for some awesome stuff!

What I Wore Wednesday-Thrift Store Edition & a Birthday

Here I go again - posting my pics for WIWW and feeling awkward as always and as insecure as a 5th grader. If you haven't posted pictures of yourself in front of a mirror for all the world to see, trust me, it's a little intimidating. Do I smile? Do I not smile? Is my stomach sticking out? Does my hair look weird? All kinds of insecurities.

But hopefully it will inspire you (even just a little!) to think about using the thrift store as a way to find unique, fun pieces to add to your wardrobe.

And guess who turned five last Thursday?! My Avery Belle, that's who.

And she was beyond excited! She's thrilled about being able to start Kindergarten in the fall, but not so thrilled that her mommy says it's now time to stop sucking her thumb.

She is such a delight to be around. She loves to find little ways to surprise me, plays so well with her little brother (most of the time), and is so sweet and helpful with Violet. She's a dreamer, for sure, and loves to draw and color.
