Shabby Apple Giveaway {and a birthday}

On Monday I was in the changing room at Loft Outlet (they have amazing deals right now, by the way), and I overheard a girl telling her friend, "This dress makes me look too old, like 26 or 27".

True story. I guess 26 or 27 is now OLD. Yikes.

Today is my birthday, and I am turning the ripe old age of 33. And I've gotta say, since I've turned 30, getting older has not bothered me one little bit. I feel like I'm getting smarter (that might not be saying much. HA) and wiser each year, and more "me" than I've felt since I was a 10-year-old drawing pictures to hang on my wall, rearranging furniture in my pink bedroom, playing dress-up with my dolls, and imagining what kind of beautiful life I would have (I've always been an excellent day-dreamer).

SO. Because it's my birthday, I thought it'd be a great day to offer a giveaway courtesy of Shabby Apple! They have some fabulous, feminine clothing that I just love. Here are a few of my favorites.

So fabulous, right? Make sure to check out their website to see all of their unique pieces! To make this even more fun, Shabby Apple is offering a exclusive 10% off code for all my readers (good for 30 days). Simply enter the code “weave10off” at check out.

What I've been pinning

Friday is here! Lots of picnics and BBQs planned for our holiday weekend. How about you?

So, I thought I'd share some of my recent pins with you today. (I assume you've heard of Pinterest? If not, I feel sorry for you. You are totally missing out, my friend.)

I just made these crockpot chicken tacos this week and they were super yummy. Click the picture for the recipe. I've been using the crockpot a lot recently ~ it's so handy!

These floors are such an inspiration to me as I'm coming up with ideas for a space in our house that we are turning into an art studio for me. To say I'm excited about the new space is a complete and utter understatement. I'm giddy, I tell ya! Details to come!! EEEK!

I really want an old pull-down map. Like, really badly.

I have a thing for white bedrooms. And this one is just perfection. Cozy, lots of textures, old wood...sigh, it's perfect.

Isn't this the cutest idea for a kids' space? I just love the world cut out on the wall. So cool

Some craft space ideas. Love it.

Really like this color combo and the vintage-ness of the outfit. Super cute.

You can see all my Pinterest boards here.

Have a great weekend friends!

Hello Monday

Happy Monday friends!

What a beautiful, sunny weekend we had! All of my flowers are now planted, and that is a good feeling!

I'm joining Lisa Leonard for some "Hello Mondays" this morning...

Hello birthday girl! We now have a six year old in the house! Her birthday was on Saturday, and we celebrated last week with some family and a little party at my parents' house.

What did she want for her birthday? Office and crafting supplies. She is a girl after my own heart. So she got a stapler, tape (she was most excited about the fun duct tape she got), construction paper, scissors, sticky notes, drawing paper, and some other fun crafty stuff.

Hello slide! You are now officially conquered by a certain 18 month old. She was obsessed with it this weekend.

Hello fun birthday party for my dear friend Sheila!! She's been one of my closest friends for years, and we pretty much know everything about each other. The good, the bad, and the ugly! (for real) She's been an amazing friend, and I'm so thankful to have her in my life!

Hello new "Love" sign that I just listed in the shop. This barn door is incredible and makes my heart go pitter patter. (I'm strange, I know)

Lots of painting in store for the week! Also some fun stuff like a tea party with my sister-in-laws and maybe some projects that I've been putting off for way too long.

Hope you all have a great week!

Spring is in bloom

Every year I make such a fuss about my roses and this year will be no exception. Sorry. They are just too gorgeous not to share.

I'm not a gardening expert by any stretch of the imagination, but for some reason, my roses do so well every year. Despite the fact that I do nothing to enourage them. I prune them, but that is it. I planted the climbing rose bush 4 or 5 years ago and each year it gets prettier. It also does an excellent job of hiding some of the old, ugly railings on our porch.

The scent is just amazing. I love to sit on the porch in the afternoons, read a magazine, sip on something cold, and smell the roses.

After I took some photos of the porch, I decided to try and take some pictures of little Violet. And she did everything she could to avoid me and my camera.

The little stinker.

"No, I will not look at the camera, mom."

Her older sister is always more than happy to have her picture taken. Meanwhile, the little one is hatching up a scheme to escape the situation.

These pictures show a little bit of Violet's personality: independent, determined, playful, fiesty, and, did I mention, independent?? I think I've developed a few gray hairs thanks to her. Oh my.

Have a great weekend!
