Color

I thought a lot about color when we bought our house. I wanted our wall colors to reflect the house and it's character. Our house is a 1920's American Colonial, so I chose colors that were sort of historical and looked like they belonged. And I'm really happy with how they turned out. The pictures aren't entirely accurate, but you get the idea.

Here's a view from the side entrance (family room) through the front foyer and into the dining area. The family room is a pale yellow called Winter Wheat, the foyer's green color is called La Fonda Wild West Green, and the kitchen is Boston Brick.

Here's a view from the kitchen into the family room. The french doors open up to our office.

  1. Hello, first time paying you a visit! Had to come by when I saw your blog name! Your house looks lovely, nice paint choices! It looks like a very cool house. I must say your little girl is adorable, and I like the verse you posted in your sidebar!

  2. Aimee,
I love the colors you selected - I can't believe that your house is from the 1920s. Did I read that wrong? The woodwork looks perfect. Our house was built in 1930 and looks it.

  5. Since you posted this back in 2007, you probably won't even get this comment unless it's e-mailed to you or something, but I found your blog by Googling "La Fonda Wild West Green" since that's what we are going to paint in our kitchen and great room. I wanted to see what it would look like in a bigger sample than the 2x3 paint chip. LOL! You have a beautiful home and I am glad I found your blog! :)
