I apologize in advance if you all are sick of hearing about my furniture projects! You're probably rolling your eyes and yawning right now, but I just can't help myself!
I picked up this cute Pier 1 side table from Goodwill this week for $6.97. I have a thing for little tables, and I liked the rattan sides and drawer of this one. And I liked the fact that it was sturdy and well-built.
Here's what it looked like when I got it. Really dirty and pretty scratched up...
And here's what it looks like now...
I primed it with B-I-N primer, and painted two coats of a semi-gloss paint. I then distressed it using regular paint mixed with Floetrol (a paint conditioner). I used pretty much the same technique as when I did my coffee table makeover. Once you get the hang of it, it's really easy to do.
Right now the table is by our front door. I'm not sure if it'll stay there or not, but that's where I plopped it for now. And I still want to find some cute accessories for it.
I swear I will never buy a new piece of furniture as long as I live! There are just too many awesome deals to be had out there!
Happy Weekend!
bravo! you never cease to amaze me. seriously.

ReplyDeleteI have a brilliant idea. Since you seem to enjoy and are obviously very good at this process of finding bargains and making them look great and I am not, I will send you a list of things I need/want for our house.

ReplyDeleteNo! Please don't stop with the furniture projects! Those are my favorite posts. This table is exactly what I've been looking for, and I'm having a bit of an anxiety attack/self flagellating moment because I almost stopped at GW this week, then decided not too. Maybe it wasn't the same one! :)Love your blog, and LOVE the table - good job! Wilma Beachy
