A little one-sided chat from me today.
:: What am I doing today? Scrubbing my house. This is the thing that gets put on the back burner when I'm busy. And I'm a bit of a clean-freak, so it drives me nuts. There's nothing like a clean house. Too bad it doesn't last very long these days!
:: What am I excited about? Hubs brought home a trailer-load of beautiful old barn doors on Saturday. I totally felt like it was Christmas morning when I saw them. I'm weird, I know.
:: What am I listening to? The Hillsong channel on Pandora.
:: What am I anxious about? Balancing life with my growing sign painting business and taking care of the kiddos and house. When I am stressed out I don't sleep very well, so I've been pretty worn out lately. I love seeing my business grow and have a hard time not letting it consume too much of my time. It's a daily struggle. So, there you have it ~ I am so NOT perfect!! Very, very far from it.
:: What is something new that I'm trying? My sister-in-laws, sister, and mom are doing a fitness/weight loss challenge for the next two months. This means that I have to stop eating stuff like "heart-attack in a bowl" (what I ate last night at our Super Bowl party) and I have to make time for exercise. Ugh. This means more stuff to cram into my day. But I know that it will be good for me and totally worth the time.
:: What is something I'm embarrassed about? Jack, who turned 3 last month, is still not potty-trained and I'm pretty sure it's my fault. I tried about 6 months ago and it was a failure. He just doesn't care if he's wet/poopy. Does.Not.Care. But I've been telling myself since Jan. 1 that I need to make time for it again and really work on it with him, but it just hasn't happened. But I MUST.
:: What are the kids doing today? Violet is on the floor playing with toys and Jack and Avery (who just came home from Kindergarten) are watching a movie we got from the library at church.
:: What am I grateful for today? That the sun is shining, the kids are enjoying playing together (for the most part), and we have everything we need. Truly.
{I made this sign last week using a beautiful old barn door. It is already sold, but I plan on making more similar to this one.}
I love your signs and that's exciting that your business is growing! Boys are different when it comes to potty training so don't blame yourself. My son turned 3 on Sept. 30th and we just started about a month ago. He does great with #1, but still likes to do the other in his pants. That's one of the things that we don't have control over. The boys take more patience in this area :) When we are at a store, he asks me if he can poop in his pants. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi Aimee. Do not worry about potty training. My sons were both 3 1/2 and when they decide, it will be done forever. No need to stress him over it because it will take that much longer. I promise it will happen.
ReplyDeleteMy kids were both 3 before they were what I would call really potty-trained. He will get it! Don't worry about it. Looking back I wish I wouldn't have felt so pressured by other people's kids that were potty trained younger.
ReplyDeleteI wish clean houses lasted longer too!
I'm glad your sign business is growing, but I'm sure it does add some stress. I want to own one of your signs someday!
Please no worries &/or guilt about your non-potty trained 3 yr old. My son turned 3 in Aug. & finally decided HE was ready in December. Got to love a strong willed child.
