Hello Monday {Hello Beach}

Last Friday we decided last minute to throw out our weekend to-do list and head for the beach. My parents' beach house near Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, to be exact. It's about 2 1/2 hours away.

I literally threw some food in a cooler (essentials like cereal and hot dogs and soda), packed our swimming suits, summer clothes, and diapers (totally forgot shoes and sunscreen and toothbrushes) and, we ran out the door and headed to the relaxing place that we love.

Hello Lewes, Delaware. You are a beautiful little historic town. And you have a great little beach that our kids loved. We will be back.
 Hello boy who is growing before my very eyes.  I am so proud to be your mommy.

Hello insanely HOT weather. We didn't venture out to the beach until 6pm.

 Hello little girl who loves all things sand and water.

Hello monster fish (a tuna) caught by my fisherman Dad. The kids loved it. Jack said that the eye balls felt squishy like a trampoline. Gotta love it. Some of my earliest memories are of going fishing/boating with my dad. It's been his hobby ever since I can remember.

Hello full-fledged cold in the middle of a heat wave. Not fun. Please go away.

Hello boating in the ocean on a beautiful summer day. Apparently it was exhausting for Violet.

Hello brand new week with lots to do!

Hello tackling my overflowing email inbox. Seriously, it's crazy right now. If you've requested a sign in the past few days, hang tight. I will answer your email shortly.

Hello beautiful, COOLER temps for the week. I love summer and all, but 105 degrees is a bit much.

What are you saying hello to this week?

I'm saying "Hello" with Lisa this morning.

    1. If you haven't already been, you NEED to check out the Lewes beach! It's perfect for smaller kiddos who are scared of waves. And it stays shallow for a long time.

  5. Wow, what a fish! I am so jealous; we just vacationed in Dewey Beach and loved it, even when it was 65 degrees, cold, extremely windy, and enormous waves, and it was June! We will be visiting again soon. My husband would like to have a summer house there, but we can't afford it. :) I wish we lived a lot closer to Delaware. We do have the Lake Erie beach 15 minutes away, but it's not the same as the ocean beach.

    I am saying hello to having a garage sale this weekend so I'm spending the week getting ready for it, as well as preparing some school stuff (I'm a teacher).

  6. Aimee,
    I grew up spending my summers on the eastern shore. You made me homesick with your post today. Glad you and your family were able to get away and enjoy some time at the beach.
