Coziest corner in the house

I was channeling my inner Nester this week and decided to move some furniture around. I brought this white chair from the studio into the family room. And in the process, I discovered the coziest spot in the house.

And it is right here by the fire.

The fun part about this spot is that nearly everything was found while thrifting or was homemade. I love that.

I created this sign one night for the mantel. It was stuck in my head for months, and I finally had time to make it.

Garage sale bottles, shells, homemade bunting, window frame, Ikea plant...and my mantel is complete.

The chair was a $25 yard sale find, and I made an imperfect slipcover for it. (don't look too closely)

I found the ottoman at Goodwill and also made a slipcover for it.

And there you have it! It's where I will be spending part of my weekend. What are your plans?

  7. I feel like I'm constantly rearranging my house and currently find myself at a standstill with the "post-Christmas" mantle. I love your chair and ottoman, however your mantle is what got my wheels turning! Thanks for the inspiration and nudge.
