Birthdays & Posies
So my little girl turned 4 yesterday and to say that she is proud is a complete understatement.
She keeps saying, "Now I'm taller! And I'm going to school soon!" She is positively itching to go to school like her bigger cousin Anna.
In awe of the cake. And boy was it simple to make! I am most definitely NOT a baker, so cakes are sort of a chore for me to make (I dread it).
This one was a strawberry cake (thank you cake box!) with cream cheese frosting. And instead of going to the trouble of doing fancy decorations, I stuck some peonies in the middle and called it a day.
Opening her gifts and loving every minute! She requested a doll, cards, and candles on her cake. And all her wishes came true!
My house smells like a flower garden right now. Really.
Tulips in the hallway...
And peonies everywhere else! Just because it's that time of year!
And can you believe my roses??
The porch smells absolutely divine, let me tell you! I just stand there and stare at them. All day long.
I love them so!

ReplyDeleteHi! So glad I just came across your site. Your little girl is so cute! I have a 10 year old daughter that has worn glasses since she was 2 and I think they always look so cute. So glad to be along for the ride now. Hope you have a great weekend! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Miss Avery! Danae called...did Avery get the message? (It was a little...not understandable.) :) We also have a gift for her...maybe see ya at church Sunday?

Beautiful cake with the flower, Happy late birthday to your little sweetie!
ReplyDeleteLoving how you arranged your peonies with the jute bottles!
My little girl turned 4 last week too...except she had her party on 5/1 and so became convinced that she turned four on 5/1 and turned 5 on her actual birthday. There is no arguing with her. I love the logic :) Happy Birthday to the May babies!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and LOVE it! The nursery is adorable. I love the old hymn on the wall too...one of my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you know what kind of climbing rose you have? I'm looking for a climbing pink one. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI too am curious as to what kind of roses those are?
