Last weekend my husband was cleaning out our garage and I happened to glance into the trailer to see what he was taking to the dumpster and I was horrified at what I saw!!
He was going to throw away this wooden container!
Couldn't you just picture it filled with flowers and setting on a lovely country patio??
And these pillars!Ok, you may think I'm a little nuts for wanting to keep them, but I think they would make a really cute entrance for a garden or even used inside the house.
After I *confronted* hubs about these items, he sheepishly admitted that he thought I wouldn't let him throw them away, but in his neat-freak-ness, he just wanted to get rid of stuff! The nerve!
Needless to say, all of these items are once again back in the garage.
Oh, and I just had to show you a yard sale find from earlier this year. It was a $5 coffee table that was stained dark green and I painted it black and distressed it.
My old Target coffee table was, in my sister's words, looking pretty ugly (it survived quite a number of years and was pretty beat-up...and my sister is not afraid to be totally and brutally honest with me...typical sister), so I'm really glad I found this one at such a great bargain!
good job with the handiness... i redid a goodwill table recently too :)
ReplyDeleteoh. my. word. i'm so glad you rescued those items, that would have been a cryin' shame! yes, those pillars have great potential and i have no doubt that they will reach their full potential under your talented hands! i have to do a "garage sale find" posts, i've found some wonderful treasures this summer! hope you're feeling well and having all the strength you need for the days! i know it's not easy raising and growing children at the same time!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL, I am always catching my husband in the act of ridding our garage of its treasures!!! I shudder to think of what he has tossed when I wasn't looking!
ReplyDeleteYour coffee table is great!
Happy day!
Melissa
Oh my goodness! I love that table. It totally looks like Pottery Barn!
ReplyDeletecrazy people I tell you, they are just crazy! I have wonderful ideas myself for those wonderful pillars; I have been searching all over the place for them. A mantel is what I want to build with them, oh yes yes.
ReplyDeleteI found these old OLD shutters in my shed, they are small and very different; and were near being tossed. I still haven't figured out what to do with them. but I love them. I have 4, and they are together in a set of three pieces of wood in odd sizess. that makes no sense. the first piece is maybe 2 1/2 feet, then the middle is 3 feet, and the end is 2 1/2 feet. make sense?
Wow! Fantastic! Great color choice.
