Barn Door Inspirations

Some of you had commented about the barn door that I had in a post last week - isn't it the coolest??

I just love it. Obviously.

The hubs saw it when he drove past a yard sale last summer, and he came home and told me about it. What a guy!! Normally, he isn't very impressed with "junk" like this, but he actually liked it! And I think it was either free or a couple of dollars.

So he went back to the yard sale and brought it home for me. For now it's propped against our garage until we find it a permanent home.

The color just speaks to me! I love, love, love it!!

I'm trying to come up with a reason to use the door in the house. I think it would be cool as a headboard.

Here are some inspirations I found...

  1. At our house we have an old barn door about three times that size and I got it for a headboard for a king size bed but it hasn't happened yet - I think my husband hasn't had the vison yet!

  2. I like the idea of the door w the first picture. Very cool idea. Q- do you make signs like the "he is jealous for me" but w other words if I'd get you it? Price? Thanks! Krissy L.

  3. Nice! We have a bunch of old doors from a barn we tore down. I had one on our porch with a lighted Christmas wreath on it! Looked so cozy. I also sold one to a lady who is using it as a headboard. Love all the fun "new" things you can do with old stuff! The original owners would be shocked to know it's being used as a headboard! LOL

  4. Krissy ~ Yes, I do make custom signs with any wording you like. The price for the "O How He Loves Us" canvas is $40, so a sign similar to that would be in that price range. Email me for more info - maweaver1@gmail.com. Thanks! ~Aimee

  6. Some dear friends have had a similar OLD door hung sideways on the wall in their dining room for years. I've always loved it. Hmmm I have a HUGE open wall in my livng room I have no clue what to do. Maybe I need to hunt for a door.

  7. I recently came across the old door for a head board too and fell in love with the idea!
I hope I can get my husband convinced now if I show him all your pics of how it could potentially look. . . he was very hesitant of the idea a first!
