Hello Monday

Our first full week of summer has gone by and it's been laid-back with a bunch of work thrown in the mixture. The kids have been having a blast playing outside. It's been great having Avery home full-time, although they have their share of squabbles.

We spent Saturday working outside - trimming trees, pruning roses, mowing the yard, and I was working on creating a fun sitting area under the tree where the kids play. Someday I'll have to take pictures for you. There is a huge tree in our backyard that we turned into a play area for the kids a few years ago. Hubs built a swing set right into the tree, as well as a slide and a little rock climbing wall. It's pretty sweet. And it has lots of shade for hot summer days. The kids literally spend almost the whole day under the tree.

So, how about some hellos for this Monday?

Hello little girl who has no fear. The older kids are scared of spiders, big dogs, and the like. Not this girl. She is our worm-picker and spider killer.

Hello screen door! I feel like my house is ready for summer now.

Hello artist. This girl has been painting up a storm with her neighbor friend Tori. They've spent so much time painting in my studio the past few days. It's fun to have their company while I work!

Hello summer flowers. So nice to see you.

Have a great week, friends!

Wedding Signs

I've made a few signs in the past few weeks for customers to give as a wedding gift. They have been a lot of fun for me to work on!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

What I Wore

I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy again for "What I Wore Wednesday"...

and, a disclaimer. I don't always wear nice clothes. Sometimes I'm embarrassed when I look into the mirror. I stay at home a lot and most days I'm working on some sort of project, so my requirements for clothing are pretty basic: comfy, cool, and able to withstand paint splatterings and runny noses.

But on the days that I actually have the opportunity to leave the house (hallelujah!), I have fun putting effort into what I wear. And, in case you don't know me, I find most of my clothes at thrift stores because I love the thrill of the hunt.

Top: yard sale (Loft)
Skirt: Plato's Closet consignment
Shoes: Goodwill
Necklace: Lisa Leonard (hubs surprised me with it for my b-day a few weeks ago and I LOVE it)

Skirt: made by me (so easy!)
Belt: Forever 21
Shoes: Goodwill (NY&Co)

Happy Wednesday friends!

Hello Monday

Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! Our consisted of lots and lots of playing outside, taking advantage of the gorgeous weather, cleaning up messes, getting yard work done. All that good stuff. How about some hellos this morning?

Hello my little helper. Who falls asleep on the job. Like, almost every day. Cracks me up. She can hardly get through the morning without a little cat nap.

Hello sisters. Acting like their typical selves.

Hello ALMOST summertime. Today is Avery's last school day. I have a feeling these two will have some fun this summer.

Hello swing time. All day long I hear "Mommy, push me on the SWING!!!". She could swing for hours.

Hello new week and lots to be done! I'm still working on redesigning my website, coming up with new ideas, and I want to fit some strawberry picking into my week. Have a good one!

Family Room Wall Color

I started to think about painting the family room a different color several months ago, but I wasn't sure what color I wanted to use. Until I saw Layla's blog post at The Lettered Cottage, and then I knew the direction I wanted to head in.

The new paint color is Benjamin Moore Gray Owl and it is awesome. It's mostly very light gray with a little bit of blue, depending on the light.

Since I was painting the walls anyway, I decide to do some re-decorating while I was at it (of course). I created this ocean-inspired painting using old barn wood that hubs put together for me. And I LOVE it. I'm keeping it up for the summer...maybe longer.

So, there you have it! Thanks to Layla I am LOVING my summery family room!

If you want to see more of my house, check out the Home Made Lovely blog today for a tour. I was so honored that Heather asked to feature my home today!

Happy Weekend!

Hello Monday

It's Monday! Here are a few hellos to start the week.

Hello beach! We stayed at my parents' beach house in Delaware for a few days last weekend. It was chilly and rainy but also peaceful and relaxing.

Hello cousin-time at the docks. So fun.

Hello naughty little two-year-old. I found this pic in my camera, and thanks to a helpful husband, I didn't have to clean up the mess. Oh, this girl. It was baking powder, by the way. Maybe it cleaned up my tile grout in the process??

Hello fish pond. We went fishing with our friends the Morningstars at the pond by their house on Saturday night. The kids were beyond excited.

Hello beautiful June evening at the farm. So pretty.

Hello Avery girl. Love her.

Hello Lancaster County sunset.

Hello planting flowers and mulching this weekend. It is pretty much finished and feels so good to be done! It was a HOT weekend to work outside.

One more week of school and Avery is officially done. Cannot wait.

Have a great week, friends!
