Desk Drawer Project

I picked up an old desk drawer for free at a yard sale last weekend, and as soon as I saw it, I knew something could be made from it.

So I decided to make it into a shelf...

I painted and distressed the edges and, after about half a dozen nail holes in the wall, finally got it hung straight! (isn't that SUCH a pain??!)

These are my Amish Grandfather's old German prayer books that I bought at an auction after he died a few years ago. They are a TREASURE!

And, on the slightly silly side, guess what little love's latest obsession is??

That's right...STICKERS! (and they are everywhere!)

  1. Wow! What a creative idea to use an old desk drawer like that! Love it! -Julia :-)

  2. Your shelf is great! Wonderful job!

And I love the second picture of Avery...I'm sitting here, laughing. :o)

  3. avery is so stinkin' cute! what a sweetie.
looking forward to our get together. thanks again for the invite.
love all the decorating. seriously, with all that extra time you have (ha ha) on your hands, you should become an interior decorator! seriously.

    have a good one.

  4. That is too cool! So magazine worthy! :)

  5. What a cutie! Kids love stickers - and to this day, I do, too! What a clever wall reminded me that I have a old drawer around here somewhere (that I bought a couple of years ago)...I need to find it and put it to good use! Yours looks so pretty!

  6. HI Aimee, oh my word, i just never know what's going to be next! YOU ARE AMAZING! You could write a book on creative ways to use everyday objects!
I have some bad news...I won't be able to make it to your get together tomorrow! (boo-hoo). Our car is still in the garage, (get me OUT of here) and also we have a last minute costume fitting for the Anne of Green Gables production. I'm sorry to let you know so last minute. Please say a big hello to all the ladies!

  7. You sure are clever to make a drawer into a shelf , I never would have thought of that .
Your little sweetie is growing so big.

I love hearing from you! Thanks for your comments! ~Aimee
